Definitions of Spiritual, Spirituality & Spiritualism BooksThe definitions of spiritual-type books - 'medicine for the soul'
Since there seems uncertainty over the differences in content of books entitled (1) spiritual, (2) spirituality, (3) spiritualism and (4) metaphysical, the following definitions should help clarify the matter. See Metaphysical Books for what those kind entail. Of course, all four of these have something to do with the spirit world from a religious point-of-view or philosophical. While the dictionary lists a few other definitions, these are the main ones: Spiritual

Above the entrance to an ancient Egyptian library are hieroglyphs interpreted to mean ‘medicine for the soul’, a very poignant observation... describing what people are effectively looking for in a 'spiritual book'. Although, as you can see, the contents within these types of books vary. Whatever type of spiritual book a person is looking for however, likely they are seeking a few kernels of truth, spiritual truths... some enlightening knowledge to further their spiritual ways. Of course, the subject matter is the first thing one considers... perhaps they might wonder whether it is along religious lines or not, that is, organized religions. Many people have given up on organized religions but others have not… and some don’t know where to turn. As far as our two books (see below) are concerned, that doesn’t matter because they don’t promote any type of religious belief. While spiritual in nature, they were largely influenced by a metaphysical phenomenon called the Divine Intellect (divine intelligence) discovered 1,800 years ago by Plotinus. While this phenomenon has no religious affiliation, it is the source of divine (spiritual) wisdom which is conditionally available… except, of course, to the atheist. While not to begrudge atheists for their views, it’s just that only a spiritual person (believers in a supreme being) can make contact with the Divine Intellect. In other words, you can’t open a door if you refuse to acknowledge it exists. Actually, except for the fact our books are not about spirits of the dead communicating with the living, all three of the above terms fit. Whether the dead communicate, we don't know, but it doesn’t have anything to do with our books anyway. The descriptions above which would best describe them would be ‘of or relating to supernatural beings or phenomena’ and ‘the view that spirit is a prime element of reality’. While the 'spirit world' means different things to people, as far as our books are concerned, it doesn’t matter what you believe. It doesn’t matter as far as this metaphysical phenomenon called the 'Divine Intellect' is concerned either. You might envision the spirit world as being with or without angels, with Jesus there (or not), being blue, green, 72 degrees or smelling like flowers, it doesn’t matter as far as our books are concerned. With that out of the way, we suggest learning more about this phenomenon called the Divine Intellect through which our books were influenced. In order get an idea of the author's (A.O.
