Some free advice… while those time-tested areas and growers are always your best bet, but if there is a need to expand beyond, great caution must be taken. Those who have expanded beyond know the risk of crop failures is high the first year (new area, new growers)... be prepared to absorb some losses initially. A comforting thought... while I normally try to add a comforting thought for each agricultural sector, it's hard to find one for this... it's a tough-tough business. One good thing, it isn't boring... often fast paced with a small fortune always on the line. Yet, there's deep satisfaction when the fields are making good high-quality yields... meaning the sense of accomplishment can come quickly and is often felt.
