Aside from its unique content and style, of a metaphysical nature (as in 17th century poetry), it is not something one would expect today... not when conformity rules. As for the author, his style smacks of something from another era, either long ago or yet to come. His work has a futurist tone yet somehow seems to possess the prevailing mentality of the 19th century. Yet within some statements, he seems to have an outlook from classical times. However his style or STD LEX may be characterized, it certainly gets one's attention. There is nothing conventional about STD LEX. Within the numerous topics it addresses, on a few points it is somewhat brutal but nonetheless profoundly enlightening throughout. It is also surprisingly funny at times. Perhaps the most refreshing thing about the book is that sensitive social issues are tackled in an entirely different manner. His perspectives seem laced with spiritual overtones of a profound nature and his logic is sure to make someone sit up and take notice. While many things these days are taken for granted or no longer discussed, as if in total resignation, STD LEX may change that. Sure to provoke some soul-searching, its also sure to make us rethink where we stand as a civilization. After reading STD LEX it seems imperative that we do. Wherever A.O.
