Volume 1, Issue 1 (1st edition) "Author Revives Ancient Method to Assess the Stone Age and to Challenge Darwinism" September 2003 The debate over the origins of man has been revived once again. For more than a century it has been Darwinism versus creationism. Either humans descended from apes or they were uniquely created by the hand of God. Not to be limited to one choice or the other, A.O. Kime presents to the world a third likelihood in his new book, Metaphysical Cavemen: A Refreshing New Look at Ancient History. In Kime’s opinion, anthropology has failed to accurately characterize the Stone Age and cavemen. “The cavemen were not stupid as most believe but were more astute than modern man in some areas, understanding metaphysical phenomena, for example,” Kime states. He acknowledges that archaeologists and anthropologists have done a remarkable job as far back as the Egyptian dynasties but asserts academia has effectively discredited man’s Stone Age ancestors. “Cavemen were far more intelligent than we’ve given them credit for and had a far higher level of sophistication than ever before revealed,” he adds. Metaphysical Cavemen reintroduces the 'persistent-types' theory, which originally lost out to Darwin’s theory of evolution, with some revisions. He creatively incorporates some aspects of Darwinism and creationism to introduce an alternative. In arriving at his conclusions, Kime relied heavily on an empirical thought process, utilizing the 'nous' as the founder of Neoplatonism, Plotinus, called it. Kime explains this phenomenon as “the spiritual method to ascertain facts otherwise to remain hidden, esoteric or unknowable.” Kime contends that his book is not a collection of stoic data derived from scientific conventionalism. Nor, he adds, is it written from any religious point of view. Quite uniquely, Metaphysical Cavemen incorporates a fictional account of a young orphaned caveman to help make Kime’s points. The book suggests problems this teenager would encounter and how he would solve them. Kime also demonstrates how one can determine a timeline in human events during the Stone Age by sequencing the logical order of primitive realizations. He elaborates on how the sciences began developing eons before the written language and details the caveman’s knowledge of physics.
