Metaphysical poetry... incandescentlyCompositions by the metaphysical poet A.O. KimeAside from his poetry writings, A.O. Kime has authored 50 plus abstracts on metaphysics and has been a creative freelance writer since 1997 of contributing articles. He has also written several articles on agriculture, social issues, politics and ancient history and is the author of two books STD LEX and Metaphysical Cavemen. For more on his background... see About the Author Concerning his poetry writing, which A.O. Kime prefers to call ‘verse’, he has probably written nearly as many as he has articles. It isn’t your normal run-of-the-mill type of poetry however; it is more like the metaphysical poetry from the 17th century… therefore they have nothing to do with emotions and are seldom poignant. They are generally of a serious nature. In other words, nothing you’d want to read to an audience of 'poetry lovers'. In this day and age his works are unique and besides being always thought provoking, they usually smack of profoundness. They are often deeply profound because, quite simply, Kime's passion for metaphysics seems to have provided an added dimension. He hesitates calling himself a poet however but prefers instead to be considered merely a 'poetry writer'. After all, is everyone who has ever written a poem a poet? At what point can that title be claimed? Then there is the matter of 'styles' poets are expected to adhere to. Strange but true, in the opinion of many critics, style is more important than content. At any rate, as long as he is credited as being the author, his poems/verse belong to the public and can be freely reprinted (which includes dozens of his works in his book STD LEX). The following are his most recent (2004)...
The Promise in Dreams Yes, I thought as I sat on my bed, being in dreams is living instead; messages surf in that endless sea, hailing dreamers, the immortal ye. A.O. Kime (1941- )
Saving Face The joy of youth which time will sour, and broken dreams make hopeless power, but in faith I found our saving grace, wisdom will glisten an aging old face. A.O. Kime (1941- )
My Garden Of a simple pleasure is the tilling of soil, commanding growth is the goodness from toil, creating is not idleness, nor labor in vain, reflects one’s heart and sprinkles its rain. A.O. Kime (1941- )
